The Institution of Mechanical Engineers' Railway Division in Scotland is delighted to invite the cross-disciplinary railway community to the 2026 George Stephenson Lecture, taking place at the Technology and Innovation Centre, University of Strathclyde, from 6pm.

This year's lecture will be delivered by Jeremy Westlake, CEO of Network Rail, who will share his views on on how engineers can address the challenges faced by rail industry as it transitions into Great British Railways (GBR). He will also outline the opportunities offered by GBR’s whole system focus to provide a better engineered railway.  

This is a valuable opportunity to hear directly from one of the sector's most influential leaders and to engage with him on the future of the industry. We particularly encourage younger professionals across all railway disciplines to attend, network, and be part of the conversation shaping our industry's future.
